The NAMED Advocates works centers on creating opportunities for leaders to gather, learn, connect, and grow around the intersections of racial and disability justice. We are looking for an Education & Programs Manager with a can-do attitude and a passion for empowering disabled people of color and building cross-movement solidarity.
Position Summary:
The NAMED Advocates is seeking a passionate and highly organized Education and Programs Manager to lead our programming and advance our mission of racial and disability justice. This role will oversee key initiatives, including managing the two-year Rethinking Language in Science project and programming at our events and functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program coordination, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven project management. This is an exciting opportunity to shape meaningful programs, engage diverse communities, and create transformative resources at the intersection of racial, disability, and patient advocacy.
This is a remote-based full time consulting position.

KEY JOB COMPONENTS
- Program Management
- Serve as the Program Manager for the Rethinking Language in Science project, a two-year initiative bringing together racial, disability, and patient advocates to develop a comprehensive analysis of shared language.
- Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and focus groups with advocates and stakeholders.
- Collect and analyze data to construct actionable insights and a detailed report.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and communications to ensure the project’s success.
- Plan and execute programming for NAMED Advocates’ events, including panels, workshops, and other educational initiatives.
- Develop and manage workplace initiatives, such as job shadowing programs, that align with NAMED Advocates’ mission and values.
- Coordinate logistics for programs and events, including scheduling, communications, and material preparation.
- Stakeholder and Community Engagement
- Cultivate relationships with advocates, community leaders, and organizational partners to strengthen programming and outreach efforts.
- Serve as a key point of contact for stakeholders involved in programs and events, ensuring open communication and alignment with goals.
- Engage diverse audiences to raise awareness about NAMED Advocates’ mission and programs.
- Represent the NAMED Advocates in cross-organizational working groups, meetings, conferences, expos, and other events.
- Data and Reporting
- Collect, organize, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data for the Rethinking Language in Science project and NAMED Advocates programming.
- Create detailed reports and presentations to share findings and insights with stakeholders and funders.
- Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement based on feedback and outcomes.
- General Organizational Support
- Assist with company events and programs.
- Write and edit educational resources.
- Coordinate speakers and logistics for programming.
- Collaborate with organizational partners to develop programs and resources.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Required Skills and Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in program coordination, education, or related roles, preferably within mission-driven organizations.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives, meet deadlines, and oversee logistics.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Experience navigating stakeholder relationships and fostering community engagement.
- Familiarity with workplace initiatives like job shadowing programs or similar.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Google Workspace, or similar platforms).
- Ability to conduct research and create summaries, notes, and reports.
- Ability to use Word, Powerpoint, Excel.
- Preferred Skills
- Knowledge and/or strong interest in racial and disability justice frameworks and an understanding of patient advocacy.
- Experience facilitating group discussions, workshops, or events.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in dynamic environments.
